Beautiful Feet Sunday

4 billion people in the world are living in the dark meaningless world that we’ve experienced in Ecclesiastes.

Who will share the good news of the one new thing under the sun that changes everything for everyone: the life, death, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus Christ?

All of us are partners. Some of us will pray for world mission, others give, care, and go.

Today is Beautiful Feet Sunday. The Church Mission Society (CMS) calls us to give in one or more of these ways, so that the good news of Jesus can be taken to the world. As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” (Romans 10:9–15)

Can I encourage you to prayerfully consider how you are supporting world mission today?

If you would like to give:

Work under the sun

After reading Ecclesiastes, it would be easy to say ‘What is the point of work… or anything?’

Is work a waste of time since everything in this life under the sun is meaningless and futile?

Should we all quit our day jobs and become evangelists to tell people about Jesus so they are saved… since that is all that lasts?

Jesus, the one new thing under the sun means that your work does matter. Your work matters, because you matter. Your work is done under the Lord and so is an expression of your relationship with the Lord.

That also means we are to work whole-heartedly since it is the Lord we work for.

The other good news Jesus brings is that since he fulfils us in every way, we don’t need to find our fulfilment in work – that is good news indeed!
