Look, the Lamb of God!

It’s easy to not recognise someone.

Perhaps one of the funniest cases was the great Charlie Chaplin. He came third in a Charlie Chaplin look-a-like contest. The judges obviously didn’t recognise him!

The one we must recognise rightly is Jesus, the Son of God.

When John the Baptist first saw him, he said: ‘Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!’ and after seeing the Spirit rest on him he said ‘I have seen and testify that this is God’s Chosen One.’ (John 1:29,34)

Andrew went and told his brother Peter: ‘We have found the Messiah.’ (John 1:41)

When Nathanael met him, he said: ‘Rabbi, you are the Son of God; you are the king of Israel.’ (John 1:49)

The Gospel of John is written ‘that you may believe Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.’ (John 20:31).

Let’s read his Gospel to come and see who Jesus really is, the One we can’t afford to mistake!

In His service, Tory.
