Jesus is the true light that gives light to everyone in the world (John 1:9). We meet that light in his Word, the Bible. It’s easy to get out of the habit of reading the Bible each day, but to do so means we miss out on God’s light. We are in the darkness.
An easy way to start Bible reading would be 10 minutes in John’s Gospel each morning before breakfast (‘no Bible, no brekkie!’). Read a chapter, or a subsection marked by a heading in your Bible.
After reading it, ask yourself these five questions:
1.What does this teach me about God?
2.What does this teach me about people?
3.What does it teach me about Jesus?
4.What does it tell me to do?
5.What ought I pray in response to this Word?
Let’s hear the Word, believe, and live (John 20:31)!
In Christ, Tory.
