It’s not often we get a crowd of people around here (maybe imagine a herd of cattle coming at you in the yards or on a TSR!), but walking against a crowd in a big city is no fun. It’s far easier to go with the crowd, rather than against it.
I wonder if you or I had been at Jesus’ trial before Pilate… would we have gone with the crowd or against it? Would we dare stand out for Jesus?
Peer pressure is a strong force and temptation to reckon with. Every day we are faced with the choice of where our allegiance lies: Christ or the crowd?
Let’s pray we are refreshed and strengthened with the good news that Jesus is Christ; and renewed in the joy it is to serve him as number one, this Easter.
